Pick a sport and research its history. Your assignment will be to prepare a written presentation on the history of a sport. The presentation will include:

Heading: Name, Date, Class, Instructor, Title

Introduction: Tell us about the sport you have chosen and why you chose it.

Body: include the following

• place of origin

• "Genealogy” of the sport – where did it start and how did it get here.

• Levels of the sport: youth (competitive vs recreational), interscholastic, intercollegiate, professional

• important dates (we want to get a sense of time and age)

• top notch players, innovators, owners, popularizers, etc. – people who put a substantial mark on the sport

• significant competition(s) that are associated with the sport

• other information that will help you understand the sport: How has it benefited society or harmed it (Fantasy leagues, Gambling, Role Modelling)? Popularity in our country and other countries.

• Professions that have developed from the advancement of the sport. Sports Psychologists, Agents, Media etc.

Conclusion: What you learned about the sport and its role in our society
