Brand Association Network and Evoked Memory
Luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton occupy a distinctive position in consumers’ minds. Their names often trigger immediate associations related to status, exclusivity, craftsmanship, heritage, identity, aspiration, and lifestyle. These associations do not emerge by accident. They are built over time through consistent branding, storytelling, symbolism, product quality, pricing strategy, customer experience, and cultural relevance.
For this case study, begin by identifying the ideas, images, emotions, and meanings that come to mind first when the brand Louis Vuitton is activated in the mind of a consumer. Present your thinking in the form of a mind map that visually illustrates the brand’s association network. Your mind map should capture both direct and indirect associations and should reflect how the brand is positioned in consumer memory.
After presenting your mind map, write an analytical discussion addressing the following question:
How would you create a Louis Vuitton-like evoked memory structure for a similarly priced product that does not have the advantage of the Louis Vuitton name behind it?
