Preparation

You are required to meet with your role-play group this week. Before joining your role-play group, be sure to study the material and discuss your understanding of the skills for this week with your group. The role play will be at least 1-hour in order to allow for each learner to cycle through being the social worker, the client, and the observer (at least 20 minutes for each role).

Instructions

After completing and recording the role play (using your Capella Zoom account), provide a succinct reflection of the theories and interventions that were played out during your group session.

For each reflection, list the names of the individuals present and participating (including their roles in each role-play).

  1. Reflect upon what you learned in the role of social worker.
  2. Reflect upon what you learned in the role of client.
  3. Reflect upon what you learned in the role of observer.
  4. Identify two skills that you learned this week and how you were able to apply them in your practice.
  5. Identify two skills that you are still working on and developing.
  6. Describe how you can use an anti-oppressive practice approach with the skills you have learned this week.

Additional Requirements

  • Written communication: Your paper should be well organized and written in clear, succinct language, with no technical writing errors, as expected of a social work professional. The Capella Writing CenterLinks to an external site. can provide resources to help with this requirement.
  • Length of paper: At least 1 typed, double-spaced page, in addition to the title and references pages.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
  • Media files should be recorded on one account and all members of the group should submit the same recording (Zoom link and passcode). Each student should role play for 15-20 minutes, with the total video length between 45-60 minutes. Videos must be recorded using your Capella Zoom account (See Course Resources>>Tools and Resources in Canvas). Submit your Small Group Role Play Zoom link in the same document with your written reflections.
